Dylan Dempster honored with Cunha Award at Closing Ceremony

Dylan Dempster capped off a tremendous 2019 LBLL Closing Day as the Cunha Award recipient, given annually to the player who through his love of the game and perseverance best epitomized the true spirit of LBLL for this year!  LBLL was also pleased to acknowledge the T-Ball Bats managed by Pat Carey as the team Hit-A-Thon fundraising champions, and acknowledged the Hit-A-Thon divisional hitting champions:  Kai Leanza (Lake Monsters, T-ball), Camden Smith (Hot Rods, Farm), Nicholas Yun (Minors, Giants), Keegan Smith (Intermediate, Astros), and Dylan Dempster (Majors, Cubs).  Congratulations to all!

Leading up to the awards ceremony the action on the field was tremendous all day long.  The Dodgers looked strong in overcoming the Cubs for the Intermediate title, and then the Challengers, T-ball, and Farm players put on a show before the Minors and Majors championship games saw the Giants outlast the Mariners and the Dodgers get past the Diamondbacks.

After the closing ceremonies, some coaches and players then participated in the traditional end-of-Closing-Day coaches game before everyone showered up and headed to Brende Ranch for a fantastic Diamond Ball to close the season!

This brings the 2019 LBLL regular season to an end, but we're not done yet!  Good luck to our King of the Hill and Tournament of Champions teams in Intermediate and Majors, and to all of our 2019 All Stars.  And please be sure to sign up for summer baseball at the link below!  Go Bay!

First week of playoffs highlighted by close games across the board

The 2019 Lunada Bay Little League playoffs are off to an exciting start in all three upper divisions. Extremely close games have been the story as all of the teams are giving it their all. Six of eight games played so far have been decided by a mere single run -- and the remaining two games were each decided by only two runs!

The action continues today in an elimination game between the Intermediate Astros and the Intermediate Angels at 5:00 on the Majors Field. Don't miss it!
