Closing Day at LBLL was once again full of exciting games as Division Champs were determined for the Minor, Intermediate, and Major Leagues.
Closing Day started off with a thrilling championship game in the Minor League. The Red Sox were able to defend their first place finish during the regular season by defeating the Angels 4-3 on a walk-off hit by Cameron Gherardi. The Angels showed just how competitive the Minor League was this year by having a great playoff run and nearly knocking off the regular season champ.
The Intermediate League championship game featured a bit of an upset, as the Giants played the role of spoiler by defeating the Dodgers 12-4. The Giants rode a great pitching performance by Jared Severns and were able to coast to a victory over the Dodgers, who had finished first during the regular season with a dominant 12-3 record.
The Major League featured a tight race during the regular season, which carried over into the playoffs. In the Major League championship game, the Indians made a valiant effort to defend their first place finish during the regular season against a tough Tigers team. However, behind a stout team pitching effort by Jaden Camel and Kevin Cross in the championship game, the Tigers completed a great playoff run by defeating the Indians 11-3.
Congrats to the Minor Red Sox, Intermediate Giants, and Major Tigers for winning their division titles, as well as all LBLL players, from T-ball to the Major League, for trying their best and supporting their team in every game this season!
