The Dodgers, who were looking to make it two wins in a row to start the season took the field today against the PV White Sox. After a leadoff walk by Joseph Sarmiento to start the game, Reid Howard got the Dodgers on the board with a run scoring triple on the first pitch he saw. The Dodgers scored another run to jump out to a quick 2-0 lead. The White Sox tied the game in the bottom of the second off Dodgers starter Wes Agnew. The Dodgers hung another 4 runs in the top of the second, with the highlight being a three run, bases clearing double by Joseph Sarmiento. Wes Agnew pitched a scoreless second inning to give the Dodgers a comfortable 6-2 lead.
From the third inning onward, pitching took over for both teams. Joesph Sarmiento pitched a scoreless 4th inning for the Dodgers, and closer Sean Lee came in during the the 5th inning to record 3 strikeouts, and secure the 8-5 victory for the Dodgers.
The Dodgers tallied six hits in the game, with both Sean Lee and Reid Howard collecting multiple hits.
The Dodgers now have a long layover until they take on the Rolling Hills Mets at the Lunada Bay next Wednesday at 4 PM.
