Robles arm shines as the Snakes pick up a key divisional victory

"Do it for Drew!" was the Diamondbacks' pregrame motto, in honor of injured teammate, Drew Smitham, whose presence inspired the Diamondbacks to their best game of the year and a victory over the LB Dodgers!

All the Diamondbacks hit well, with Cole Harper, Kris Duarte, and Donovan Capozzola consistently getting on base and around the diamond, and Scott Barrios belting a long triple in the late innings to cap things off.  Barrios also pitched the last five outs to close out the game, picking things up after another outstanding pitching performance from Patrick Robles.  Navraj Singh and Telmo Corral also added solid all-around efforts to help the team to victory.

The Dodgers also flashed some offensive firepower of their own throughout the game, with Nick Perrakis blasting two extra base hits and Riley Vuoso mixing great speed and baserunning savvy.  Gavin Hanson played tough behind the plate, as well.

Both teams also enjoyed good call up contributions, with Franco Correa a defensive star for the Dodgers while Keegan Leslie, Antonio Robles, and Stefen Brende helped pace the Diamondbacks offensive attack.  Brende in particular had a remarkable game at the plate -- reaching base and scoring in all four at-bats!

The Diamondbacks and Dodgers will play each other again on Saturday at 2:00 pm.
