A “Minors” battle took place on the fields of Lunada Bay yesterday as the Mariners got their first win of the season overtaking a young Dodger team 10 to 7.

The Mariners went to work early taking a strong lead in the first inning with some heavy bat work by the top of their order.  Dodgers lead off hitter, Luke Marshall did his job by consistently getting on base but unfortunately the Dodger bats

left too many ducks on the pond to catch that Mariner early lead.  Dodger manager Josh Lohman was quoted as saying” The Mariners have a very well coached group of boys and we just didn’t bring our A game today. We look forward to playing them again.”

Coach Romine of the Mariners was excited to win their first game of the season and had this to say; “Fun first game!”

The Dodgers  took their second loss of the season but Dodgers Coach Matt Marshall is not discouraged. “It’s a long season and we have a lot of games to go.  We know what we need to do to get some W’s and our focus will be strong moving forward.”

It may have been a cloudy day out there today but the Dodger coaching staff was quoted as saying, “the future looks bright as far as we’re concerned”…

Next up the Dodgers will be playing host to the Giants this Saturday at 9AM followed by The Mariners visiting the Angels at 1PM.
