From the President
There’s really nothing like Little League Baseball. This Spring will be even better than usual. This year, in addition to a revamped website we plan on completing our field renovation plan originated in 2005. The focal point of the final phase will be the creation of a new approximate 5,200 square foot plaza with new trees and picnic tables between our two fields and snack shack, promoting the ultimate family-friendly environment. The project will be done by Opening Day.
With more than five decades of service to the Lunada Bay community, Lunada Bay Little League (LBLL) is one of those great, all-American organizations that provides important life lessons, including sportsmanship and numerous fond memories. Remember this is a recreational league for the kid's enjoyment. Volunteering and donations are critical as our league must raise approximately $17,000-$18,000 per year to just break even based on the subsidized registration fees, which we have maintained at 2009 levels for the 2010 season.
From our annual Opening Day parade through the streets to our season-ending All-Star tournaments, LBLL offers a baseball and sportsmanship education we’re very proud of. Our goals are skill and teamwork-building rather than simply wins and losses. This league is a recreational league with a focus on the kids having fun.
I’d like to personally welcome returning LBLL families, and also extend a special hello to families joining our League for the first time. I hope your Little League experience will be everything you expect – and more. And if you’ve considered volunteering in some way, know that your experience will be significantly more rewarding.
Welcome to LBLL!
Kevin Shannon
