Angels Watch Over Yankees

With the help of some Guardian Angels, lights out pitching by Daniel Basilios, and coach tosses by Steve Gherardi, the Minor League Yankees rallied in the 5th inning to take over the Angels with a 10-5 victory!

Noam Elroi returning to the line up after battling the flu, allowed the Yankees to field the Dirty Dozen for the first time since spring break. Preparation during practices also helped keep the boys focused with several exceptional throws from the outfield to either their cutoff man, or into the pitcher to stop the momentum on the field. Contributing outfielders included Shane Gherardi, Gino Graziadio, and Josef Kirkman.

Infield play contributions from Peter Fullerton (pitching), Klye McCann (pitching), Jack Ebright (pitching) Tucker Templeton (2nd), Harrison Harper (knock down play at 3rd), Tyler Knight to Joey Quinn (short to 2nd flip to close out the inning)!

Yankee offense got off to a slow start until a Guardian Angel carried Coach Steve Ghirardi through several innings of coach pitch. There is no doubt he is icing his elbow after what clearly was his best performance yet this season......wink, wink....! Once the bats came alive, the Yankees keep the ball in play with two consecutive 2 outs rallies. Kyle McCann, Peter Fullerton, Josef Kirkman, Tucker Templeton all had hits. Jack Ebright slid into, onto and over home base for a dramatic run that inspired Joey Quinn to rip a double that resulted in a 'score' with the support of Bob Fullerton's aggressive base run coaching. This writer will take the liberty to call it a home run....you can bet Joey did!

A quick shout out to the LBLL Board for the $2 snack shack vouchers for our players.

THE MANY FACES OF JOEY!

Tuesday, March 30

A narrow gap through the 4th inning was opened wide with a mid-season grand slam blast by Peter Fullerton. Every Yankee fan was on their feet cheering Peter as he seemed to glide through the air with a smile as big as the Lunada Bay Little League field on his face. With Hank Harper snapping pictures, proud papa and Coach-Pitcher - Bob Fullerton could be seen gleaming while celebrating with Michelle as she scribed in Peter's Grand Slam into the scorebook.

Fellow Yankees helped set the table for Peter with base hits by: Daniel Basilios, Harrison Harper and Gino Graziadio. The Yankees also had help both at bat, and in the field by the balance of the team: Shane Gherardi, Jack Ebright, Noam Elroi, Josef Kirkman, Tyler Knight, Kyle McCann, Tucker Templeton and Joey Quinn.

One more the memories/defibrillator......fun pickle back and forth, back and forth, between Peter Fullerton and Kyle McCann as they attempted to squeeze speedster Jack Moore of the Cardinals. Just before a text book out, our player slipped on the dirt and Jack broke free and rounded the bases for a dramatic score. Keep up the aggressive defensive play Yankees! We love watching you grow and gel as a team.

A big thank you to Colleen Quinn, Michelle Fullerton, Tom Knight, George Kirkman, Al Ebright, Steve Gherardi, Hank Harper, Kevin Templeton, David 'Third Base Coach' Bob 'Coach Pitch" Fullerton and Manager 'Master of Delegation' Craig Quinn for all the hours of fun in the sun, and sometimes cold and dark evening. And of course to all the Parents and fans that support our Yankees.

Look forward to the second half of the season and playoffs.

Yankees 4 - Angels 3

Minor League Yankees had a spring in their step as their defensive effort helped secure a 4-3 win over the Angels on Saturday. Kyle McCann made a spectacular double play as he snagged the ball out of the air and quickly threw across the infield into Peter Fullerton's outstretched glove. The team then rallied around Peter as he dug down deep to find 6 strikes to close out the game in the top of the sixth inning.

Yankees 7 Cardinals 6

A bottom of the 5th inning comeback victory for the Yankees made for an exciting game on a windy and cold Tuesday evening. Gino Graziadio batted in the winning run to help his team post 3 5th inning runs to close out the game. Joey Quinn displayed some aggressive hitting and base running which resulted in 2 triples and a few RBIs. All around the Yankees rallied to fend off a tough Cardinal team. We also want to thank Shane Gherardi for inspiring our boys in the dugout while he continues to sport his cast. We can't wait for you Shane to join the team soon

Kyle brings the heat.
