Dear Parents:
Our annual Field Clean up day is Saturday, February 11th. We will also be having a mandatory coaches Safety Clinic with our Board’s safety officer Ned Sasaki from 11:30 am to noon. If you are a coach and cannot attend please have an assistant coach attend. All parents are welcome to attend as well. Complimentary pizza will be served.
Clean up day will be from 8am - 11:30am with complimentary coffee, water and donuts.
From noon – 12:30 we will include instruction from Greg Jahelka on field prep and post game maintenance as well as instruction on how to safely use the field’s quad. We will also have a brief lesson on operating our scoreboard. Parent volunteers are critical to each team’s success and we realize that many parents would help with field prep, scoreboard operation etc. if they knew how. This is the perfect time to learn. Team moms and coaches make sure you get a few parents to attend.
We will also be having our second annual complimentary coaching clinic Saturday after the field clean up from 12:30 - 2pm for Major, Intermediate, Minor, Farm and T Ball division coaches and all parents. We are fortunate to have Alvin Lowi, one of Lunada Bay’s most respected baseball people, available to lead the coaching clinic with help from others including Dave Leeper and House of Hardball instructors. Alvin will provide tips on how to run a practice as well as hitting, pitching, fielding and throwing instruction. Alvin will address all your questions as well and have players there to demonstrate techniques with as well. You will learn a few things no matter how many years you have coached or played baseball. We feel this clinic will improve our collective knowledge of the game and provide helpful tips to improve the instruction we provide our kids.
This clinic would be worth $100 easily given the instruction but again is being offered on a complimentary basis to again improve the overall instruction in our League. Lower division coaches and parents might want to leave after the hitting instruction session.
We look forward to seeing you on February 11th even if you can make it for only an hour or two.
