We had a truly special Opening Day on Sunday February 28th. The kids and families truly enjoyed the new plaza and the free ice cream of course. The other facility renovations and new scoreboard were also well received by the City and community. Lunada Bay Little League received some great press in the Daily Breeze and Peninsula News. Those articles can be accessed on our Opening Day website tab. The reviews on our renovation project have all been terrific!

Irene Hill and the Snack Shack Divas did a great job making Opening Day extra special this year. Again, special kudos to Bill McBride for his fundraising efforts this year and Steve Gherardi who was honored as our Plaza Project MVP!

The Plaza Project was one of several goals that our Board has accomplished this year. In addition to the major renovation project we have just finished, we have accomplished or initiated the following:

- A completely revamped and expanded website

- Placed a Farm game on the Minor field every Saturday afternoon

- Initiated a “no steal” rule in the Minors for the first half of the season (we want to accelerate their understanding of force plays early.)

- Reintroduced a manager evaluation survey which will be sent to all parents approximately two weeks prior to the end of the season.

- Initiated a Coaches Clinic Program to improve their training and to help them optimize learning during practices

As you can see from our accomplishments, we have a terrific group of Board Members. Dave McCann, Bill Foltz, Steve Gherardi, Martin Griffiths, Cullen Gunson, Irene Hill, Gregg Jahelka, Bill McBride, Craig Quinn and Ned Sasaki provide a hard working and dedicated Board of Directors.
